Del City to Charge for Home Inspections

Above is a link to an article dealing with a municipality in Oklahoma where city officials are requiring new homeowners to pay a fee for officials to come out and inspect the homes for major violations. If they have fixed the targeted items correctly, they are entitled to a re-check for free; however, if the inspectors are required to keep coming out, the municipality could charge up to $100.00 per visit. I found this article interesting because this is the first time I have heard of a municipality requiring a new homeowner to have the home inspected rather than having the seller fix it up before closing.
